God the Son Comes to Earth

The Birth:

Mary and Joseph went to Bethlehem to pay their taxes.  Baby Jesus was born in a stable barn because there were no rooms left.  Mary wrapped her baby in cloths and laid Him in a manger.  (Luke 2:1-7; Micah 5:2)

The Message:
An angel came to some shepherds out in the field and said, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."  Then a great company of angels sang praises to God.  (Luke 2:8-14)

The Shepherds:
The shepherds went immediately to find the new born king.  After finding baby Jesus they went to spread the word of His birth and all who heard were amazed.  Mary treasured up all of these things into her heart. (Luke 2:15-20)

Just For You:
Jesus is still Saviour and Lord of all who come to Him.  When the shepherds heard the good news they left immediately to check it out for themselves.  After discovering the truth they went and told others.  When we discover the truth about who Jesus is and give our lives over to Him then we also must go and tell others.

Memory Verse:
"For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord."  Luke 2:11
